Best Schools in the Dallas Suburbs: Campuses and Neighborhoods to Explore

A useful school search in the Dallas suburbs connects academic results with the neighborhoods and homes you can actually compare. The right starting point may be an elementary campus, a middle-school program or a high-school option, depending on the student and the timing of your move.

The selections below bring together A-rated campuses and featured neighborhoods across Frisco, Plano, Allen, Lucas, Prosper, McKinney, Coppell, Richardson and Wylie. The tables also show connected secondary campuses with different ratings, so a strong elementary result does not become a promise about every later school. This is a practical shortlist, not a claim that one school or suburb is best for every student.

All ratings shown use TEA’s 2026 accountability results. Ratings summarize academic measures; they do not describe every course, service or classroom experience. Neighborhoods can span multiple school assignments. Confirm the specific address, intended enrollment year and program eligibility with the district before committing to a home.

Frisco: McSpedden, Talley and the Lawler-area school search

Level Campus District 2026 TEA result
Elementary McSpedden Elementary Frisco ISD A / 95
Elementary Talley Elementary Frisco ISD A / 95
Middle Lawler Middle Frisco ISD A / 98
Middle Nelson Middle Frisco ISD A / 96
High Centennial High Frisco ISD A / 93
High Liberty High Frisco ISD A / 93
High Independence High Frisco ISD A / 97

Lawler’s A/98 is one of the strongest results in this shortlist, alongside A/95 results at McSpedden and Talley. Crossing at Lawler Park and Edgewood connect McSpedden with Lawler and Centennial. Richwoods provides a Talley-centered comparison, also connected with Lawler and Centennial.

The Grove Frisco brings a wider set of choices: portions connect with McSpedden, Lawler and Liberty, while other sections connect with Norris Elementary, Nelson and Independence. The Grove is not one uniform school path. Frisco ISD’s current feeder guide also shows split feeds, including McSpedden, so keep the subdivision section and address specific.

Richwoods brings a gated setting and substantial detached homes into this Frisco school search. Crossing at Lawler Park and Edgewood offer other newer suburban-house choices, while The Grove adds a larger planned-community setting with several school paths. The neighborhood descriptions and links below help distinguish the places behind the campus names.

Plano: compare Spring Ridge with the west Plano school paths

Elementary Skaggs Elementary Plano ISD A / 95
Elementary Barksdale Elementary Plano ISD A / 93
Elementary Centennial Elementary Plano ISD A / 93
Middle Rice Middle Plano ISD A / 95
Middle Renner Middle Plano ISD B / 83
High Jasper High Plano ISD A / 94
High Shepton High Plano ISD C / 74
Senior high Plano West Senior High Plano ISD B / 88

Spring Ridge is a useful Skaggs–Rice–Jasper starting point, with A/95 results at both Skaggs and Rice and A/94 at Jasper. The larger senior-high comparison includes Plano West, whose B/88 result should be considered separately rather than inferred from its feeder campuses.

Glen Meadows and Glenhollow Estates connect the Barksdale search with Renner, Shepton and Plano West. Willow Bend Lakes, Willow Bend Park and Willow Bend Polo Estates add Centennial-centered options with similar secondary-campus connections. Their elementary ratings are A/93, while Renner and Shepton have different results. This is precisely why comparing all levels helps.

Spring Ridge offers an established suburban setting for the Skaggs-centered search. The Willow Bend areas provide a different west Plano comparison, with larger traditional houses and custom residences. Glen Meadows and Glenhollow Estates add other established-home choices within the Barksdale-centered search; the school paths above remain distinct from the architectural differences.

Allen: Norton, Boon and a separate Plano ISD option in Suncreek

Elementary — Plano ISD Beverly Elementary Plano ISD A / 96
Middle — Plano ISD Hendrick Middle Plano ISD C / 76
High — Plano ISD Clark High Plano ISD B / 84
Senior high — Plano ISD Plano Senior High Plano ISD B / 88

Montgomery Farm Estates and Watters Crossing connect Norton Elementary with Ereckson and Allen High. Twin Creeks and Village at Twin Creeks add Boon-centered choices with the same secondary-campus comparison. Twin Creeks is a broad community with multiple elementary assignments; Boon serves a portion of it, not every address.

Suncreek deserves its own explanation. Its Plano ISD portion connects with Beverly Elementary, which earned A/96, then Hendrick, Clark and Plano Senior. Other Suncreek addresses connect with Allen ISD and Norton. The city name therefore does not establish the district, and Beverly’s strong elementary result does not extend automatically to the secondary ratings.

Montgomery Farm Estates adds substantial newer houses to the Allen comparison. Watters Crossing offers a more established residential setting, while the broader Twin Creeks area provides several home styles and smaller neighborhood choices. Village at Twin Creeks and Suncreek widen that selection, giving buyers more than one housing setting for the campuses discussed above.

Elementary Joe V. Hart Elementary Lovejoy ISD A / 95
Intermediate Sloan Creek Intermediate Lovejoy ISD A / 93
Middle Willow Springs Middle Lovejoy ISD A / 95
High Lovejoy High Lovejoy ISD A / 96

Brockdale Estates and Saddlebrook Estates connect the housing search with Hart Elementary, Willow Springs and Lovejoy High. All three earned A ratings, with scores of 95, 95 and 96 respectively. Sloan Creek adds the intermediate-campus stage, rather than assuming the district uses a simple elementary-to-middle transition.

Brockdale Estates offers larger detached homes and a spacious suburban setting. Saddlebrook Estates provides a more estate-oriented comparison, where the relationship between the house and its grounds is a central part of the appeal. Both give this school-focused search a different housing emphasis from more compact suburban neighborhoods.

Elementary Cynthia A. Cockrell Elementary Prosper ISD A / 92

Gentle Creek, Whitley Place and Christie Farms connect with the Cockrell–Rogers–Walnut Grove school search. These campuses earned A/92, A/94 and A/93 respectively, offering a comparison across all three levels rather than an elementary-only recommendation.

Gentle Creek brings a golf-community setting into the Prosper school search. Whitley Place offers larger detached houses in a separate planned residential community, while Christie Farms provides an estate-style alternative. These are three distinct settings to explore around the same campus comparison, rather than three interchangeable neighborhood names.

Elementary Earl & Lottie Wolford Elementary Mckinney ISD A / 92
Middle Leonard Evans Jr. Middle Mckinney ISD B / 83

Arbor Hollow, Cypress Crossing and Tanglewood at Stonebridge Ranch provide Wolford-centered housing choices connected with Evans and McKinney Boyd. Wolford’s A/92 and Boyd’s A/94 are useful academic starting points. Evans earned B/83, which should be part of the comparison rather than obscured by the stronger results at the other two levels.

Arbor Hollow, Cypress Crossing and Tanglewood at Stonebridge Ranch offer smaller residential identities within McKinney’s established suburban housing. Traditional detached houses and mature landscaping provide a contrast with the city’s newer construction areas. Explore each guide for the house styles and local setting, with Stonebridge Ranch’s wider community context relevant where the property belongs to it.

Coppell: Lakeside and the East/North middle-school comparison

Elementary Lakeside Elementary Coppell ISD A / 93
Middle Coppell Middle East Coppell ISD A / 95
Middle Coppell Middle North Coppell ISD A / 94
High Coppell High Coppell ISD A / 94

Gibbs Station, Waterside Estates and Lakewood Estates connect with the Lakeside Elementary housing search and Coppell High. The middle-school entries include both Coppell Middle East and Coppell Middle North, so these communities should not be collapsed into one guaranteed feeder chain. East earned A/95, North A/94, Lakeside A/93 and Coppell High A/94.

Gibbs Station, Waterside Estates and Lakewood Estates offer established Coppell streets with traditional brick houses and updated residences. They provide a closer-in suburban location comparison than the communities farther north in this guide. Use the East/North middle-school distinction above to keep each property’s school path clear while exploring those residential settings.

Level Campus District 2026 TEA result
Elementary Prairie Creek Elementary Richardson ISD A / 95
Elementary Canyon Creek Elementary Richardson ISD A / 93
Junior high Richardson North Junior High Richardson ISD A / 90
High Pearce High Richardson ISD B / 85

Prairie Creek Estates connects with Prairie Creek Elementary, Richardson North and Pearce. Richardson ISD portions of Canyon Creek also connect with Prairie Creek or Canyon Creek Elementary and the Richardson North/Pearce comparison. Prairie Creek earned A/95 and Canyon Creek Elementary A/93, while Pearce’s B/85 result provides a different secondary-school picture.

Canyon Creek and Cottonwood Creek Estates also contain Plano ISD connections. A home there may connect with Aldridge, Wilson and the Vines/Plano Senior comparison instead. Keep the district-specific path attached to the address; Richardson is not a single school district or feeder area.

Prairie Creek Estates and Canyon Creek bring an established ranch-house setting into the Richardson search, with renovations and later construction adding variety. Cottonwood Creek Estates widens the choice of traditional suburban houses. Their relationship to Richardson and Plano ISD is a separate layer from the shared city or neighborhood label, so keep the district-specific comparisons above in view.

Elementary George W. Bush Elementary Wylie ISD A / 94
Intermediate A. B. Harrison Intermediate Wylie ISD B / 89
Junior high Grady Burnett Junior High Wylie ISD A / 91
High Wylie East High Wylie ISD A / 91

Braddock Place and Collins Estates connect with Watkins Elementary. Emerald Vista adds a Cox-centered comparison, while Inspiration connects with Bush Elementary. The elementary results are A/95, A/94 and A/94 respectively.

The district’s 2026–27 feeder guide connects Cox and Watkins through Harrison and Burnett to Wylie East. Bush connects through Hampton Intermediate and Parker Junior High to Wylie East. Hampton and Parker are newer campuses, so this table does not assign them a 2026 rating from before they opened. Inspiration’s older Davis/McMillan entries should not be used as the current default path.

Braddock Place and Collins Estates add established detached-home settings to the Watkins-centered search. Emerald Vista offers a newer-construction comparison, while Inspiration has the broader identity of a master-planned community with shared amenities. The choice is both educational and residential: several campuses connect with several different kinds of places.

How to choose between strong school options

Start with the student’s current stage and likely next transition. For an elementary-focused move, compare the elementary campus and its connected later schools. For a middle- or high-school move, look at course availability, advanced academic placement, arts, athletics, student support and the practical schedule directly with the campus.

Use the ratings to decide which campuses to investigate, then compare their programs, support and school-day logistics directly. The linked neighborhoods let you make a separate choice about the home and setting. A high accountability score does not establish the best educational fit or predict a future rating.

Tell Dustin Pitts which school levels, home features, locations and budget matter most. We can compare the neighborhoods and properties that fit while you review the campus programs and enrollment requirements with the district.
